Please note guys i have modified my profile and have removed the Reggieperrin50 name, and replaced it by my known nickname "Mally". So as the Monty Python film goes i shall now be known as "Mally" who is called "Mally".
I have worked this out all by myself, so i may adventure into providing a picture as some of you guys have done , however no rush, one step at a time for a computer illiterate !
Chris, how did you get on at the velodrome on Sunday ?
Enjoyed the Sunday ride i had 71.5 miles on the clock, said to Neil we were lucky with the not getting rained on, just as i got home it threw it down, so you were right Neil.
All the best
Mally

Hi Mally, Hi all,
My Velodrome on Sunday night was great!, I was doing the Skills session, and it was a bit daunting at the top of the banking. The last time I was on a track was at Fallowfield, back in my distant past. One person I did recognise in the group of riders being trained was with was Pete Matthews. I don't think he knew who I was but we used to race in the Woodbank Park criteriums in the mid 70s, and we had some great battles in the races. I still need to get some more training in as I am not fit yet but really enjoying the experience of track riding again. I will of course have to get a track bike of my own, any suggestions, the Dolans seem quite popular at the track.
Regards
Chris

Dolan was my choice - I got mine through Paul at Rick Green - paid a bit extra than going direct, but it allowed me to pay interest free over 12 months. It also means I can take it locally, in the unlikely event of repairs etc. Cost me £1100 but I upgraded bars, stem and paint finish. I've had to curtail my track riding to keep an eye on my boy but hope to be back after Easter.
Enjoy the track Chris.

I don't think you can go wrong with a Dolan Chris, by far the most popular frame on the track. There are usually some second hand track bikes advertised on the board at the bottom of the ramp or suggest to Paul that he should upgrade and buy his old one! See you soon, Neil.

I am prepared to meet my maker. Whether my maker is prepared for the great ordeal of meeting me is another matter. |

Thanks for the advice guys!
Hi Neil, I am working on Paul, re: the upgrade of his track bike
Its also convincing my wife that I need yet another bike in my garage to go with all the others I have collected over the years. (old racer, a Bianchi, a mountain bike, etc )
Joking apart the Dolan bike I hired at the velo was a great bike and just wanted me to ride fast on it.
I am looking forward to my induction session now when I can get it booked.
